I listened to both of these albums this morning. I can't decide which is better.

Team Thriller.

Ive really been on a purple rain kick lately.

Definitely Thriller. By a wide margin, in fact.

Purple Rain and it's not that close. MJ's best album is Off The Wall.

I hate that we will never get a definitive hierarchy for these pre-Metacritic albums.

The Lady in My Life vs Purple Rain

I disagree. I think WDC is better. I also think Purple Rain is better than The Lady in my Life. But those are the only two matches that Prince Wins in this war.

Michael Jackson takes this thing without breaking a sweat.

Look What the Cat Dragged In. Both bands had better follow ups

The thing is I think Lets go Crazy and When Doves Cry are the two best songs on either album. But Thriller might be consistently better.
