That's an awesome set of songs music-wise, except "The Fixer", which has an awful middle-8 (not written by Matt).

I'll even go with Red Dot if it means MC never joins PJ. He belongs in SG, where his talents are better utilized and more pronounced. These days in PJ, he's merely a fucking metronome with a few mediocre fills... and that's IF he can keep time on that night.

Oooooh harsh! I like Matt, I like his songs, I think he's been a positive influence on the band, but yeah he's more important to SG. At this point I don't think it would be a bad thing for PJ to have someone else sat on the drum stool. I've liked the fact that by changing up the drummers it has brought a different sound to their albums. Matt is tight in the studio, probably too precise for my liking really. I loved the looseness that Jack brought to No Code and Yield. Neil Young was hugely impressed by his work on Mirrorball and the subsequent tour.

I tend to agree that a new drummer might bring a fresh sound to the band, but I feel like at this point if any of the band members leave the band will be done. That's not to say I dont love Matt and think he's been great contributor to them.

Mike wrote the main riff; as the song is simply credited to the whole band, I wouldn't consider it a "Matt co-write" as such.

Matt Cameron has written or co-written almost all the best Pearl Jam songs on the last few albums.
