The Bret Easton Ellis Podcast is better than Soundgarden

God I love this. It has made Ellis into probably my favorite pop culture figure on Earth. The awkwardness and hostility of the Carrie Brownstein/Fred Armisen episode, the epic 20-minute monologue at the end of the Ira Sachs episode, the all-around badassery of the Rob Zombie episode...I eagerly await this every week.
Anyone else listening?

Fuck that. It deserves its own thread.

If Radiolab doesn't get its own thread, this shouldn't either.

Other way around, actually! Carrie got standoffish because Bret's opening monologue was primarily about gender, and Fred was just being, frankly, a stupid asshole. He acted as though the concepts of criticism or negativity were completely foreign and unacceptable to him. It was so awkward (and great). I was on Bret's side the whole time.

BEE is an odd duck. He kinda bugs me. But I'd give this a listen, if I ever start listening to podcasts.

He's a weirdo. I met him once and it was like a Seth MacFarlane skit about what meeting Bret Easton Ellis would be like.

I've only read his American Psycho. I didn't love it. I thought the film was brilliant, though.
