Black Promo CD

Does anyone have a flac / lossless rip of this promo CD? I'm looking for this single version of Black to include on a comp. I'm guessing this version does not have the last few clips of "Why Go" like it does on the album.

If the only difference is the run in with Why Go you could just edit that out.

Wait, unless they overlap each other in which case you can't.

You could always edit the RVM intro onto the original Ten version.

Totally different mix (and mastering), though (and no good from an archival perspective).

I've never seen a rip of the Black promo circulating from memory, I'd be interested to know what's on it too.

I kinda feel like you could still edit it out, with some clever snipping and splicing... I'll test this out later.

Yeah the opening riff repeats itself a few times before anything else kicks in, giving you the tools you'll need.

Update: I'm too lazy to test this out.

I played around with it a bit in Audacity but couldn't get it right. I found the promo CD online and bought it, like the good old days.

Now if I could only find the original mix/master of "Once" without the "Master/Slave" intro. I don't think it exists. I like the remixes on RVM and Redux, but the mastering makes my ears bleed.

I know, I'd love to find a copy of that too.

Definitely update once you get the Black promo!

The promo CD arrived today. The single version is 5:33 long but the sleeve says 5:43. They basically cut the first 10 seconds of the song. I love it though; it sounds great.

Oh, weird. So does it just begin from where the rest of the band kicks in?

No, it starts just before Eddie's "ay ayaaaya..."
