Tournament rules: Draft will begin in a week or so. You have 6 hours to pick, but we may trim that down if things are dragging. If your turn is skipped you can draft immediately as soon as you get back. If you know your turn is coming up please PM someone your pick.

Any ideas are welcome, I was thinking of a couple of rules. Ten songs from any albums released or not, and live tracks are fine (in case there isn't a rec'd version).

* No Fucking Whiskeytown
* Any tracks/covers from RA are eligible, even if only performed live.
* No more than 2 tracks per album (LiH is 2 eps so you could pick 4 from it).(outtakes unlimited)

Snake style draft like other RM tourneys and if we don't hit 16 players there will be some byes in the first round. From the RA thread the following people have shown interest. Please PM or reply here to confirm before we start drafting.

Any suggestions on rules are welcome. The above is just an idea at this stage.

I LOVE the idea of live versions only if there is no studio version. I think that's solid.

Two per album is nice as well. But if we end up limiting to one, I'd be fine with that.

And I like the necessary Whiskeytown cut as well. I'm not quite as familiar with that stuff, so it'll give me something to study up on.

He has plenty of material for us to choose from if we only include albums stamped "Ryan Adams".

I think it's important to keep in mind, too, that there's an inverse relationship between the obscureness of the drafting pool and participation rates in the voting process. No one wants to have to listen to a vinyl-only Whiskeytown b-side in order to decide who has a better team when it comes time to vote.

Wait, do you just want released material? No outtakes from 48 Hrs or whatever?

I have a feeling that there will only be 13 people voting on these matchups anyway.

I'll do whatever because I'm not too picky either way. I want everyone to participate and have fun. But I think Whiskeytown should still be on the table if someone wants it. If we're cutting Whiskeytown shouldn't we also cut The Cardinals? Keep the option, just don't make it mandatory.

That's my 2 pennies, anyway. But I'll defer to consensus.

I thought it would be a bit more interesting with WT but Zeb is absolutely correct. There is more than enough material to go round as it is. I do like the idea of a compulsory cover as he has done some stellar covers and it would be a way of exposing some of the lesser known ones.

But whatever is the consensus I'm happy. I just want to pick some songs.
