I can probably just insert anything I've ever said in A&E here.

You know, I'm not that film's biggest fan either. I like it. But just.

I love it, but she watches it ALL THE TIME so I've seen it so much that now I'm sick of it. Sometimes I feel like
GoodFellas and
Ghost World (her second favorite) are on 24-hour-repeat at our house.

A few franchise-related thoughts of mine:
-Batman & Robin is the only Batman movie I actively like
-I think Alien3 and AVP are much better than Alien
-Sometimes I think Return of the Jedi is my favorite Star Wars movie
-Superman Returns is a really solid movie
-The Final Frontier is one of the best Star Trek movies
-2 Fast 2 Furious kicks ass
-Temple of Doom is not only the best Indy movie by a huge margin, but also Spielberg's best movie in general
-Singer's first X-Men is the only memorably good film in the franchise
-Anchorman 2 is much better than the first
-The Hangover: Part III is the only good movie in the series
-Freddy's Dead is easily the best Nightmare on Elm Street movie
-Halloween III: Season of the Witch is way better than the original Halloween. Also, the original Halloween sucks.
-Return to Oz is a bajillion times better than The Wizard of Oz
-Staying Alive is a genuinely great movie that is much better than Saturday Night Fever, which kind of blows

There should be a twelve year moratorium on remakes, sequels, and reboots.

Temple Of Doom is criminally underrated and all but disowned by Spielberg. I get that he thinks it's too violent/gross and is embarrassed by the ethnic stereotyping but that's pulp man. It's not better than Raiders. I prefer it to the next two though.

You forgot to include your thoughts on 2012. I think they belong in here.

Seriously though, the aesthetic of Batman & Robin is super impressive. It's so lush, colorful, and elaborate. Frankly, on visual terms, it FAR exceeds Nolan's films. Like, it's not even close. And I love the stupid, cartoonish, ridiculous humor and campy tone. I can't take the idea of Batman seriously, so I appreciate a movie that treats the concept with the appropriate absurdity. The whole movie is like a candy-coated, Technicolor funhouse. It takes balls to make a vision that extreme.

Or Roland Emmerich in general, for that matter.

I'm more surprised that anyone can genuinely believe there's anything of any value in The Hangover III.
