i didnt listen to their last album until i saw them live supporting it, mostly b/c i wasnt big on In Rainbows. i was pretty happy with the show, and i def like the last album more than in rainbows. the last two albums might be weaker than their other albums, but it still sounds like radiohead.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I haven't cared about this band since Hail to the Thief. I don't really get the love for the last couple albums.
Arguably their best.zeb wrote:In Rainbows is such a fantastic record.
Not sure I'd go with their best - but it was pretty damn good. Hail To the Thief made me lose a bit of interest in Radiohead. In Rainbows bought it backBirds in Hell wrote:Arguably their best.zeb wrote:In Rainbows is such a fantastic record.
Alongside? Try way above.LoathedVermin72 wrote:That's baffling. I don't understand how someone could rank IR alongside albums like OK Computer, Kid A, Hail to the Thief, or even The Bends.
Are you saying you of all people don't understand subjectivity? All of their albums are high quality and strike very different moods, so it makes sense that everyone's favorite is different. I like Amnesiac best but In Rainbows has a lot to recommend it.LoathedVermin72 wrote:That's baffling. I hear ya. Street Spirit is absolute top tier RH, and Fake Plastic Trees, Just and My Iron Lung are obviously great songs, but I think most of the rest is overrated (especially 'The Bends' the song).Kevin Davis wrote: I have never understood the praise for "The Bends."
Nah, of course I UNDERSTAND. I should've chosen my words better. It's just that those other albums are so fucking good and IR seemed DOA to me. It's like someone saying Human Touch is the best Springsteen album or something.Orpheus wrote:Are you saying you of all people don't understand subjectivity? Easily their best, for me.Birds in Hell wrote:Arguably their best.zeb wrote:In Rainbows is such a fantastic record.
I relistened to it today. I still feel the same about it now as I did when it came out - nothing that great, nothing that poor, just a lot of songs that are "there."theplatypus wrote:Easily their best, for me.Birds in Hell wrote:Arguably their best.zeb wrote:In Rainbows is such a fantastic record.
