Opinions and Thoughts Popular or Otherwise: TV Edition

Post by BurtReynolds »

Jon Hamm is a really bad actor.

What was the deal with that one episode of Star Trek: TNG where they found out that warping around the galaxy was messing up space/time, so they had to put a speed limit on everyone? How lame was that? Then they thankfully just ignored that episode for the rest of the series.

Yeah, even the people who worked on the series have admitted that was a terrible episode and they wish they'd never made it.

I don't understand. So basically this is a TV talk thread, right? Am I supposed to like what I am talking about or not?

Like it or don't, just make sure you know if it's popular or unpopular to like or not like it.

Thats just the sort of Molotov cocktail this police car of a thread needs. Let's start this fire.

I hope they were fired and never worked again.

Yeah, I watched a couple of episodes of How I Met Your Mother the other day and it reinforced my opinion that it's the worst TV comedy I've ever seen. I'd say that I can't believe it was a hit, but tepid mediocrity tends to be pretty huge.

if ruddock and i were TV shows, and ruddock's show locked a thread that my show created, i'd probably hate him and consider it the last straw, thus ensuring we never meet

I'm lenient with threads and all, but clearly that was a discussion meant for GD and didn't have anything to do with the movie.

This is a pretty ridiculous statement.

I dunno man, everything I've seen him in other than Mad Men has been kinda rough. And sometimes he looks like he's struggling on MM too. At least on that show he had January Jones to make him look good.

I guess I'll go ahead and be the lone defender of How I Met Your Mother. I fucking loved that show, even for all its many faults.

And Hamm isn't a bad actor. But he isn't Bryan Cranston either. He can be hit or miss on Mad Men, but he's mostly exactly what he needs to be. On the balance, I'd say he does a good job. But, yeah, there are some rough patches. And he's fucking amazing on 30 Rock.
