Never heard this before.

They played a warm-up gig at Terminal 5 a few days ago. Sick setlist, too. But the King Animal tour officially kicked off last night in DC at Constitution Hall. Only a 3,700 seat venue. Lots of people sitting down towards the back and upper levels, but tons of energy. Fresh Tendrils and Rowing were axed from the encore, and I think the second listing of My Wave was a typo. Solid show, and the KA material sounds great live. Live To Rise was kinda crappy, but that's no shock. I was expecting a setlist like Terminal 5 that started with Been Away Too Long and ended with JCP that included Head Down as the opening of the encore. D'oh. That's my favorite song and after 3 gigs I've yet to hear it. Someday. They're playing smaller venues this tour. See them if you can.

It's a shame they dumped those two tunes from the encore.

We were trying to meet Matt, but it was freezing and a warm bar seemed more appealing. But I was looking forward to walking up to one of my favorite drummers and poking him in the chest with two fingers saying "Where's the record?!"

What was the ticket situation outside of Terminal 5? The Hammerstein is long sold out and I thought of maybe trying my luck Wednesday night.

I saw one single guy trying to sell a sixth row floor ticket last night as we walked in. Its always worth a shot if you're close by and don't have to travel far.
