Excuse me while I spend a few days getting mine together. I want it primarily to consist of writers other than Bolaño and DFW, that's for sure. It's high time I branch out.

In lieu of my list, enjoy this preview from The Millions: http://www.themillions.com/2013/01/most ... eview.html

I want to read The Name of the Wind and Wise Man's fears by Patrick Rothfuss and Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn trilogy.

After that We'll see.

3 books a month, or something along those lines.

Got my three for January sorta planned out, but nothing really planned for the year as a whole.

none, for a suitable soundtrack to pair with the list was never created, nor was there a menu pairing. also, filling up his gas tank in march of 2013 put him in the red for the year.

my non-response to ruddock's mixtape is an homage to the beer tournament

Still afraid.

Good news is that I finally finished "The Brothers Karamazov".

I ended up reading 43 books in 2013, which sounds crazy to me since right in the middle I wrote the longest assignment of my life (50+ pages in 10 days). That was just 1 more than 2012. Since 2009 I've done:

2009: 38
2010: 63
2011: 51
2012: 42
2013: 43

It's crazy to think that probably 1/2 of the reading I do can't be numerated in "book" form. Also, 43 of the books read in 2010 were in the first 6 months of the year; if I hadn't gone back to school, I could have easily read 100 that year. But 47 books per year ain't bad!

i'm forced to wonder what reed's musical choices would be paired with that book. miles davis seems a bit too cliched and public enemy too... uh, black.
