I think I'd go with The National because the albums are also my three favorite records of theirs.

Also, zebster, I'm listening to The Woods right now because of this thread. Such a monster record. You might be right about your OP, but I've only ever heard this one album by them.

I really love it. I'd say if it's disappointing at all it's only because Waits set the bar so high for himself. And Orphans and Real Gone are both just flat outstanding.
