I'm really excited for this. The first teaser was one of the best trailers I've ever seen.

the book is horrendous. I mainly read military/history books and this is by far the worst. almost unreadable.

maybe this could be the one case where the move could be better than the book. but I doubt it.

Having only seen the trailer, he seemed far too unwilling to shoot the child (and the mom for good measure) for my tastes. Un-American.

Alex, would you torture a small child to prevent another 9/11?

It is poorly written. It lacks details where details are needed.
The writing is choppy and all over the place. It is like reading a diary of an uneducated dude in the Navy.
Then there was the ongoing theme of "I am just a regular guy, a SEAL, but ya know just a regular guy, but I will kick your ass because I am a SEAL, and did I tell you that I am a SEAL and I am badass, but really just a regular guy, and yeah we like to get in fights because that is what SEALs do."

if you want to read a good book about a sniper, ready Marine Sniper, the story of Carlos Hathcock.

Seems there is a lot of truth to this. Sadly, the real story would've been enough, but he went and screwed all that up.
