Most Pearl Jam albums in the Pono store are listed at 44.1 kHz/16 bit, which pretty much means no. Pearl Jam or the label are supplying masters that are not very high resolution. The exceptions to this are the Vs. and Vitalogy remasters, which were done in 96/24, and the Ten Redux at 88/24. Actually looking now, Lightning Bolt is 44/24, so there is an increase in fidelity there as well.

Whether you "feel", hear, or think you hear a difference is a personal issue. I don't own a Pono but have listened to Harvest (192/24) on a Pono player with headphones and it's comparable to my DVD-A of the record (96/24) to my ears. Pearl Jam has never shown any commitment to hi fidelity sound so it's not surprising that most of their catalogue is offered at CD quality.

All of those have been available on Hdtracks for a while.

Not all material there is legitimately HD. Be warned.

I know but it's the same with all the HD audio retailers Pono included. They all sell whatever the labels give them.

I thought the shape was awkward as hell, until someone handed one to me. Much smaller than I imagined and overall pretty comfortable. I'm not a convert by any means and will not buy one, but the design ended up pretty nice despite the toblerone similarities.

I bought one and was pretty disappointed. It sounded just OK to me through a mid-range set of headphones and through my pretty basic home audio setup. Maybe a little better than my iPod but not much, honestly. I was one of the first to get mine in the mail and I posted my review online and got hit with a barrage of audio nerds discounting my opinion because I wasn't listening through $500 dollar studio-grade headphones and decided to sell it over on the pit within two weeks of receiving it. Aside from the disappointing audio quality, the battery life and interface were pretty clunky, too. I love Neil Young and thought it was a cool idea, but it didn't really do it for me and I wasn't interested in spending even more money to keep chasing the soul re-affirming music quality that just wasn't there for me.

I am pretty happy about the $350 profit I made right before Christmas, though, by selling it :)

Yep. My favorite is the Isosceles triangle.

Yeah, the isosceles is pretty great the way it appeals to my sense of symmetry.

I had a look at my pals one. it really is a nifty piece of kit. I want one just for the sake of it, but the sound quality thing would be lost on me cos of never ending screaming tinnitus

Thanks. Glad you got some money back from selling it.
