Hold On is a guilty pleasure. I may have liked the song less if we first got to know it when it was written, but it was a nice throwback to my favorite era long after that time had passed. M/S is a good instrumental, but I like it more as a mysterious lead in to Once, rather than a stand alone piece

Except in a few rare cases, it's hard for me to vote for instrumentals. This is one of those cases where I do genuinely enjoy the instrumental, but the song with lyrics just edges it: Hold On.

Last Year:

Hold On - 128

Master/Slave - 132

Master/Slave....simply because back in the day when that music hit, you knew they were coming on stage. it. was. on. :bammer:

Master/Slave is a perfect intro & outro. I miss these experimental instrumental jams and wish Pearl Jam would do more.
However Hold On is also a good song. I voted Hold On

I like the bit where Eddie rides a horse.
