D4 Round 2ap: Pendulum vs Come Back

I really like both of these, and may actually enjoy come back a bit more, but pendulum is the better song and gets my vote.

Dig both. Went with Pendulum.

Pendulum. Comeback is a song that has zero identity of its own.

"Come Back"'s biggest offense is volume -- heavy-handed snare, wailing stadium distortion on an otherwise tasteful guitar solo, set in a key that forces Eddie to push his voice to the most unflattering outer reaches of its range (largely the reason that "real possibility" line has become one of modern PJ's most quotable memes) -- it sounds like a soul song by a rock band whose primary point of reference for soul music is other rock bands who have made rock facsimiles of soul songs. I would like to hear it covered by someone who could really hit this kind of song out of the park, because as a composition I think it's really solid. It's just too..."amped."

"Pendulum" has grown on me after seeing it live -- it's kind of an empty shell, three minutes of mood with nothing to say and nowhere to go -- but it lingers in a haunting, affecting space for its brief moment, and digs into a corner of PJ's creative reservoir that had gone untapped for a while.

I'd love to hear Martin Sexton cover Come Back.

Pendulum is in a small group of songs I like from the last three albums.

Well said KD. Someone like Rebecca Ferguson could do amazing things with Come Back.
