Keystone XL

Post by Electromatic »

Interesting coincidence this week that the 3rd presidential veto of this pipeline occurs while West Virginia is burning, because the far less safe method of tar sands oil transport rail car is the method the administration picked by default. Environmentally friendly... Um, no, this was a political move to help constituents... But they all are. Pipelines will remain the safest method of shipment for oil products. There's no perfect method, but pipelines are vastly safer than rail.

Tar Sands oil is coming one way or another.

And no one likes the Koch Brothers.

Seems like all politics these days is tied completely to money, but maybe it's always been that way.

Yeah, I've never been able to get on board with the unique opposition toward this either. I know environmentalists are desperate for a victory, but making it slightly less convenient to transport fossil fuels doesn't strike me as doing much--especially when that less convenient method has these kinds of horrific, fiery potentials.

Here's to hoping for safer better methods all around.

Maybe Elon Musk finally finds the battery technologies he wants
