Of the Earth is a fantasy. Some pretty decent live performances that we are all allowed to inflate in our head for the mythical studio version. Life Wasted has a strong riff, passionate performances all around, and one of Mike's best extended solos. It's just a ferocious kick in the ass. Probably a top 10 for me.

I love Of The Earth. But I've listened to Life Wasted a billion more times and I never reach for OTE. When it comes on, I get pumped and enjoy the ride. In casual conversation I'd probably say I like OTE way more. But when I stop and consider all the factors I think I have to vote for Life Wasted.

I know this makes me even more of an RM villain, but I find Of the Earth to be a heavy, lumbering bore.

I'm not the biggest Of the Earth fan but I like it more now than I used to.

OTE. Was really hoping this song would have made LB.
I like Life Wasted fine, and don't really the hate it receives here. It's a fine rock song, but it definitely does fall short compared to PJ's other rockers.

Life Wasted easy!
Of the Earth was nice the first listen, but it feels like a disjointed mess that drags along and becomes quite boring. Play it live, put it on Lost Dogs if you want, but I am really not fussed about it making an album.
