Division 2 Round 4ak: In My Tree vs. Corduroy

Hell.

In My Tree is probably my favorite song written by anybody.

Corduroy may be one of the best pop-rock songs of all time.


What I love about both songs is i can't imagine them being songs written by anybody else. They are both Pearl Jam doing Pearl Jam extremely well. This will take some thought.

The answer is clear to me.

"In My Tree".

Another killer match up. I have to go with Corduroy. This is a top 10 song over a top 20ish song.

This requires a dedicated listen.

I fully expect Corduroy to win. But In My Tree is the better song. And it gets my enthusiastic vote.

This one was also fairly easy for me. But only because IMT is in my top 1.

In My Tree it is.

I believe Corduroy is the better song in a "nuts and bolts" way but In My Tree is a beast that hits me on every level.

My mind changes with each listen. My gut is telling me Corduroy.

I really thought this was a no brainer to choose Corduroy. But, after another listen this is really how I feel about these songs too.

IMT is highly overrated. Corduroy, however, is not. Corduroy.

Yea, team ruddo . Although IMT is a super great song, it is overrated. Corduroy is just a beast. It is pearl jam.

I wouldn't say it's highly overrated, but I do agree that it's overrated. Team Corduroy.

I love Corduroy, In My Tree is better tho.
I'm pretty sure Corduroy eliminated In My Tree last year, In My Tree deserves its revenge.

In the end, while In My Tree is a perfectly cromulent song, Corduroy, more than any other song, defines what Pearl Jam was, is, and should be.

Corduroy can't be overrated.

Corduroy may be the only moment in the entire catalog that every agrees is unconditionally awesome.
