Division 4 Round 4bc: Parachutes vs. Pendulum

If Pendulum was a little bit more muted/distant, and Eddie was down in the mix a bit I might have voted for it. Both great songs that are done a disservice by their production, but Pendulum is the kind of song that is going to rely more on the atmosphere it creates, and so it feels the impact of that a bit more.


Parachutes.

Parachutes is a thing of beauty.

Parachutes better win this round, good lord.

I like Parachutes just fine at this point, but I have trouble jumping on that bandwagon.

Pedulum

Parachutes is just a nice tune. Very little criticism can be reasonably laid on it.

Pendulum is nice, but it's a trick of a song, a piece of music that does something well, but nothing else beyond that.

I really don't get all the love Parachutes gets. It sounds horrible on the record. Is there a good live version I should check out?

This is way too close. Only a 3/2 ratio? This should be like 10/1 or something.

Tough match up, two of PJ's better newish tunes. I think Parachutes edges out Pendulum though.

parachutes, while not a particularly great song, should be viewed favorably simply because its sound distinguishes it from the plodding, mid-tempo white noise of the avocado album

while pendulum is part of the plodding, mid-tempo white noise of lightning bolt
