3 Years Later...What are your favorites of the aughts?

Post by Norah »

Everyone did this three years ago, but have your tastes changed? What are your favorite albums now, released between January 1, 2000 and December 31, 2009? My biggest change is the addition of Arcade Fire and Explosions In The Sky records.

Kid A
Binaural
Riot Act
The Postal Service
Funeral
Neon Bible
For Emma, Forever Ago
Love & Theft
I'm Wide Awake It's Morning
Lifted
Digital Ash
Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place
All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone
Elephant
The Woods
Cease To Begin

That's 17 I came up with off the top of my head.

No. The 90s started in 1990, the aughts started in 2000.

Where we decide to start our block of 10 is mathematically arbitrary, to be honest. It makes sense then to use language cues to decide when to start and end the block we refer to as "the 90s".

I going to do the same. I'm actually interested to have a look at what bands I got into from the past decade.
