From a purely talent and finesse standpoint, you may be correct, but Barry QUIT!
This MAN would never quit. He was THE football embodiment of perseverance, fortitude, and heart
...and what a great effing uniform, too!

1. Barry
2. Brown
3. Payton
4. Campbell
5. Emmitt
Campbell's 1980 season is probably the most underrated season by any player.

This is a pretty good list. I'd switch #1 and #5...
I don't punish Emmitt's legacy because of the great cast around him. He was the total package, and will probably be the most underrated player in NFL history because of Barry's flashy moves.

Longevity plays a part for me... the sun shines on a dog's ass some days.
It's not like Barry played 4 years. he played 10 years as an NFL running back. He missed 7 games total in that time period (5 of them at one time). And carried the ball on average 20 times per game. So while I have no problem with you being team emmitt, longevity is something you cant hold against Barry. 10 years is a LONG time for an NFL running back. He led the league in rushing at 29.

Barry Sanders Averaged 17 yards per game more than Emmitt Smith.

Emmitt regularly carried the ball 20-30x per game, and was an effective rb from 1990-2004.
Barry averaged more because they had no passing game to speak of.

Barry did things that were more impressive than Jordan.

15 if you count those bullshit 2 years in Arizona.
but then again, if you dont count those Emmitt Smith and his "longevity" played a whopping 3 seasons more than Barry. This isn't a Bobby Orr/Sandy Koufax longevity disparity.

Also, I wish Bo Jackson would have played longer.

Which "no passing game to speak of?" You mean the ones with Herman Moore/Brett Perriman/Johnny Morton ALL having more than 1000 yards in the same season?
Or the one where Herman Moore set an NFL record for receptions?
Or the one where both Perriman and Moore had more than 100 receptions?

Now THAT is a good longevity example.

Watching Brown is like watching a man amongst boys. Just a physical freak athlete. He really was quite innovative and special for his time. However, I don't think he stands above the pack if he plays 10 or 20 years later.
