Fatal's not great, but it's not off he goes, either.

I'm not a big fan of either of these songs. Off He Goes, I guess.

Off He Goes is one of my top 10 Pearl Jam songs. Easy vote.

Fatal is a little bit ruined for me, knowing that the original line was "the answers are in Plato"

Is "Dead Man" also ruined knowing that the chorus originally went "he's a dead man walking around"?

Another tough match up. Love both. Feeling Fatal more today.

Toughest matchup yet for me. Today I'm feeling Fatal just a bit more, but I know that will change on another day.

Fatal slightly for me. Those open arpeggiated chords sound uncomfortably close, along with the feeling of Ed whispering the lyrics into your ear. It just sounds incredible. And the outro ("is he truly out of sight...") is heartbreaking in how the song's character is disappearing into the wallpaper.

I like Off He Goes quite a bit, and those musical interludes between the chorus and verse are great. There's no shame in losing to it, but I think Fatal reaches an emotional place for me that the song never did.

I looooove both of these songs. But I have to go with "Fatal".

Very tough.

Off He Goes gets my vote, though. It's a great journey that you can get lost in. I had this song on repeat for hours at some point in my life, it just goes and goes like the energizer bunny.

Fatal is great, though. I could easily change my mind.

Its widely known that Off He Goes is a top 5 Pearl Jam song, and virtually everyone says so. So it clearly wins this matchup

Off He Goes but both are top shelf Pearl Jam.

Both great songs but I'm giving it to Fatal. I have always enjoyed Fatal and think it deserved more than B-side status.
I would be interested to hear the Fatal demo with Stone doing vocals (as mentioned in the PJ20 book).

My love has dimmed slightly with Off He Goes and grown with Fatal.

Fatal.

I just never understood the love for Fatal. It sounds like a b-side to me. Perhaps the only track from the Binaural sessions that deserved to be left off the album.

I listened to Fatal and Off He Goes on the way home last night. I've changed my vote. Fatal is the better tune, the better band performance, and should win this round.

Nah
I don't think that was the original lyric -- Stone just said in the "Lost Dogs" liner notes that at one point he thought the song should have done that.
