Brain again. Year of the J.

Tough one, I love Brain of J, but I'm giving the nod to GtF. It's basically core Pearl Jam for me.

Very evenly matched strong songs that are both top 30. I probably like Brain of J a bit more these days but GTF was once a top 5 song for me so it'll get the nod.

Given to Fly but I love them both.

Brain of J deserves to go all the way... until it runs into Last Exit and gets steamrolled by its fellow killer track 1.

I'm still bummed Give to Fly made it this far.

I'm leaning towards Brain of J. It actually is deceptive in terms of how good a song it is; it's such a demented sprint to the song's finish that it's easy to miss how awesome the song is. And I'm always more impressed and drawn by PJ when they manage to make something inventive or emotional with an up tempo piece (like this, Last Exit, Insignificance, etc.) I think it's comparatively easy to find the emotion in a ballad but when you can do the same with a rave up I find it all the more powerful.

I love Given to Fly but am voting Brain for now.
