Two good songs that are diminished by the excellent company they keep that both capture the essence of their albums without being the definitive presentation of it.

I Took Your Name, but it's close.

Get Up is great, but I Took Your Name is incredible.

This was a tough one... I took your name

Every time I hear "Get Up" I think of a miniature Mike Mills popping out of a cuckoo clock and chanting that refrain, sharply jolting me out of my peaceful slumber. It's maybe the only REM song I find actively irritating.

Vote for "I Took Your Name."

Perhaps the video will change your tune, Mister Kevin Davis...

Aw man, I Took Your Name -- I love it so much. Next to Circus Envy, it may be my favorite on the album.

Get Up should be destroying this, I fucking love it.
Green has so many wonderful up tempo tracks.

I'd change my vote on this one if I could. Originally went for Get Up.

I don't care for "I Took Your Name" at all. It's kinda dull. What do you guys like about that one? It sounds pretty cool I guess but I don't like the song itself.

"Get Up" is fun. Pretty easy vote for "Get Up".

I can change my vote on this match. Are other people besides chud not able to do this, and/or is Chud fucking with me?

There's a cool glam swagger to I Took Your Name. It's not a favorite, but I see the appeal

I can't change my vote anywhere. Maybe only mods/poll-creators can change it?

I always assumed it was one or two threads where I forgot to check off that box. If it's systemic it means it has something to do with the forum permissions, and we need to send out the Sarge signal

I love "Get Up", especially live (eg Tourfilm). I like how the backing vox sound on this:

When I was in my first band in high school, I convinced them to play "Get Up". (The bass player and I are still friends, and still joke about Stipe's vocal hiccup at the end - and his apparent refusal to fix it.) I was brand new on guitar, but the other guitar player stepped aside to let me play it alone. Literally the first song I ever played guitar on in front of an audience (and I recently found that a video of that performance existed).

I like "Name" enough, but I'm one of those that's always had trouble with the sonics on Monster.
