Belong is a cool bassline, silly verses (not in a good way), and an amazing chorus. But It Happened Today has kind of made Belong irrelevant.
Houston is stunning. Such a jarring song that never abandons hope that things will get better. And I adore the way Stipe sings those place names. There's so much romance in it.

Wtf. This is ridiculous.
I guess Accelerate is very underrated.

Liked both of these songs. Liked Houston more.

This is probably the toughest one so far for me. I picked Houston, but... I don't know. They both deserve to go a lot farther than the first round.

Another tough one. "Belong" is sonically the more compelling song, but I think "Houston" is ultimately the stronger work. "Accelerate" is one of Stipe's best records lyrically, to the point where I think he turns otherwise good songs into great ones, which I think he does here.
