Animal is an unappealing mess, one of the worst songs they've ever done.

I love the sunny tropical fruity drink cabana feel of Beachball. One of my favorite songs on Reveal. It feels like the vacation we idealize in our minds but never actually experience - the sonic equivalent of a happy place we go to when we need to escape and can't manage it

I don't see anything wrong with "Animal", I enjoy it a lot.
This was a sorta close match, but Animal takes it for me.

I really like Animal. I'm not sure why it gets a bad rap.

While not a huge favorite, it's just really nice to listen to.
I really like the guitar tones at the beginning.
The verses are nothing special but they are good enough (they sound a lot like Alligator Autopilot whtever), the song really reveals itself in the chorus. This isn't Stipe's greatest performance but he sounds really good in it. I also really enjoy all the layered vocals.
There's a lot going on in that song and while I do get why it would be messy I find it to be a very enjoyable listen.

I think it's mostly that it has a great sound and a very enjoyable chorus.

I don't care for "Animal" either, though I could stand to listen to it again so I will refrain from voting until I do. I always thought it a huge blight on their hits collection, especially as they were leaving songs like "Bang and Blame" and "Bittersweet Me" and "Lotus" off.

Yeah, I'm not an "Animal" fan. Give me "Beachball."

Even if I like animal, it's definetely not as good as those 3 songs.
