Trainspotting 2: Electric Bogaloo: It's SHITE being Scottish

The film stars Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller, and Robert Carlyle.

Does "based on the novel" mean that we're going to get a film full of Trainspotting scenes and plotlines left out of the original film or that we're going to get a film based on the Trainspotting sequel, Porno? If the latter, why is this called Trainspotting 2?

I have a hard time imagining those 4 characters would all still be alive at this point.

The latter. Basically they don't think they can market a filmed titled "PORNO" to the masses (i.e. Americans) so instead they're copping out with the 2.

Either way, I can't wait to see it. I forget how far in the future Porno takes place. This fact is crucial (for soundtrack purposes of course.)
