ive always found fretless a bit overwrought. maybe its cuz i hate the harpsichord.
pop song 89 is always a pleasure to listen to, especially the acoustic version

I like "Fretless," especially the Unplugged version, but "Pop Song 89" is irresistible. I will now always associate it with Ben Wyatt on "Parks and Recreation" using it to get a bunch of bored teenagers to dance, much to the dismay of Tom, whose hip-hop wasn't doing the trick.

Had to go with "Fretless". Was there for me when I needed it, and there was always something a bit "Stand"-ish about "Pop Song" for me.
(Random story: the morning after "Everything Hurts" won at the MTV VMA's, I was working a shift at my college radio station and somebody called and requested EH. I looked through the studio and realized we had neither the single nor Automatic, but we had the Until the End of the World soundtrack, so I played "Fretless" instead. Still can't believe I had to resort to that, but the swap felt pretty good.)
