This is a toss up. Houston barely gets the nod since they don't have that many songs that sound quite as world weary while still being desperately urgent. Strange Currencies is a great song (and the final verse is amazing) but it doesn't quite go to anyplace new.

Both wonderful songs, though

Oh man, these matchups are making me vote against Monster, but I think I actually like Houston more than Strange Currencies. The latter sounds like a logical extension of Everybody Hurts, and that's not a knock against it. SC is a solid song, but Houston is kinda weird / abrasive / depressing. It's an interesting hodge podge, at least to these ears.

Houston is my favorite song from Accelerate, but I still don't think I can vote for it here.

Houston is quite good, one of the better post Berry REM Tunes methinks. But Strange Currencies is one of the best things this wonderful band has ever done.
