Yeah it was fantastic. Technical question for you Burt. I've noticed in a lot of movies that CGI cat faces and orangutan (in this case Gigantopithecus) faces look much more realistic than other animals. Any reason or is it just subjective?

Cats and apes are naturally CGI. It's on account of their teeth, that makes them Nature's Best Friends.

I dunno but I know what you're saying. Primates probably look better because they are close to human (Louie seemed to have some of Walken's mannerisms). In the case of the cats, they probably just put more time into them because they were main characters and fun to work on in the case of Khan. The wolves looked a bit 'off' but otherwise they looked pretty great.

Yeah I thought the wolves seemed off too. I noticed it in the last Planet Of The Apes movie that the orangutans looked awesome, the gorillas pretty good and the chimps looked obviously CGI. Thought maybe face/body structure or hair color mattered. I imagine it helped that Bagheera was so dark. He looked perfect.

I was watching this the other day. The stuff about repeating footage really surprised me. Even across different movies.

Starts at 1:40.

Same here even though I've only seen the original one time many years ago (and I can't even remember it).

I've seen it a lot since I have little kids. It's pretty fun. I think Jungle book and Robin Hood are my two favorite disney movies.

Jungle Book, 101 Dalmatians and Robin Hood are my favorites in that order by far for the classic Disney animation stuff.
