I feel like I'm not getting as much as I can out of the endless possibilities that a juicer provides. I pretty much stick to my grapefruit+lime cocktails most mornings, though orange+lemon is also very good.

What kind of juicer do you have?

This cuisanart electric gizmo that seems pretty bare bones. It has a motor, the main juicing attachment and a spout. It works hard and gets all the juice out of my fruits, but I don't know how I would go about getting juice from leafy vegetables out of the thing.

I was just about to add that celery is a great additive to a fruit juice-heavy mixture.

There's a reason it's called a citrus juicer. If you want to get into other kinds of juice, you will need a real juicer. Then you can do all kinds of delicious stuff. Until then, you are probably better off using your blender and making smoothies including your juice as a base.
I don't use my juicer as much as I planned to when I bought it, partly because it removes all of the fiber from the food and it seems so sad to get 1 pint of juice from 2 lbs of carrots. But it is delicious.

does all the fiber end up in the dry leftovers? i didnt realize you lost it when juicing

Well, maybe ALL is an overstatement, but yes, that pulpy stuff leftover is the fiber. I can drink lots of juice and get the nutrients from it but still be hungry because I need the bulk from the fiber to feel satisfied.
I can buy a pint of carrot juice for $3 but it's $5 for 2 lbs of carrots and a lot more work to get the same end result, so I just buy it when I want some. And I eat carrots when I am hungry.

Is putting celery in a juicer any better than simply adding water?
*Edit: I googled it, and evidently there's a bunch of vitamins in celery that I hadn't realized.

If you wanna get into making juice or smoothies the Nutribullet rules. I make two large glasses with it a day. In the morning I do a veggie one and after I workout I do a fruit one.
Veg:
Spinach Leaves
Tomatoes
Cucumber
Carrots
Brussel Sprouts
Walnuts
Water
-------------drink as is
Fruit:
Two Bannanas
Apple
Strawberries
Almonds
Two Scoops Of Whey Protein Powder
Skim Milk
--------------put in freezer for an hour and a half
The veg one tastes ok it's mostly just for the vitamins but the fruit one rules. The bullet mixes the hell out of everything......no chunks. Clean up is a snap.

I hate eating fruits and vegetables so its a great way of getting the nutrition with the least amount of work. You just pound it down and done. You'll shit like crazy for a week or two though.

What temperature do you let the tap reach before hitting your glass, inter-netter?
