"Radio Free Europe" is definitive early REM but I think "The Great Beyond" is a vastly superior composition.

I don't like Great Beyond as much as others do (there are some nice moments but I feel like Man on the Moon covered the exact same ground, and better). It's a good song, but not a great one (it also feels a little overthought to me, which is unusual for them). Radio Free Europe (the murmur version, especially) is probably an underrated song. We never talk about it, but it is actually really good.

Great Beyond is my brother's favorite song so I feel a little bad.

I heart the "ticks" in the right channel on RFE.

I really like TGB, but it's probably a minute too long.

i agree with this 100% but still voted for rfe.

Close match, but I went with RFE, I'm not sure if any REM track has grown on me as much as this one.
