Very difficult, both songs are among the best things they've done imo.
After a close listen, You Are The Everything is just slightly better.

Both of these songs scratch a very similar itch for me. When I was first diving into REM I would have given this to You Are the Everything easily. It's still a top tier REM song for me, but I've got to go with Strange Currencies now.

I can't think of two more titanic REM songs (in my view, anyway). And yet, no hesitation stating my preference for "Strange Currencies," which I think confirms it as my all-time favorite REM song.

These are both ultimate REM, and gorgeous songs, but You Are the Everything is soul-crushing.
