It sounds just like a song that was popular in the US in the last 30 years. Long story short, a friend was told by another person that it was their favorite song and they couldn't put their finger on it, but knew it ripped something off.

The melody at the start of each verse reminds me of Jimmy Cliff's "I Can See Clearly Now", but that's probably not it

That opening music sounds like that Barry manilow song (I can't cry without you or something). So clearly this is a mashup of the greatest lite FM hits from the 70s and 80s
