watched the first episode. Much better that I expected. Didn't like his latest movies but this show could be a great way for Cameron Crowe to redeem himself.

The show is part feel-good, part love for the rockNroll life. It's slow paced with lots of music.

Oh and a couple of PJ references.

First ep was great. There are probably some subjective problems I could find but it's heart is beautiful and it's really perfect for my headspace right now. GTF made me tear up and I've been sick of that song for years.

I did and I loved it too. :D

It's gonna be fun to play spot the PJ reference in the upcoming episodes, they won't all be as blatant. The only one I saw in the Second episode was just someones backstage pass.

All of those people are way too pretty to be roadies.

Watch the second episode. Does a better job of setting up tone and characters.

Latest episode was hysterical. Love the revenge they got on the blogger. What a complete tool but he played the part perfectly.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I'm enjoying this. It's gradually getting better as the characters are evolving. It's much more enjoyable than that Vinyl as far as music based series go and seems to be less heavy handed on the cliches.

Yeah it's getting better via the characters.

I wonder is this a one shot thing? Just one season. Doesn't feel like it's trying to get into a second. Certain storylines moving in such a way they seem like it'll be a done deal by seasons end.
