How many studio covers have they done? I count I've Got a Feeling, Sonic Reducer, Crazy Mary, Leaving Here, Gremmie and Love Reign.

Huh. I always assumed it was. Assuming Soldier of Love is a live cut then too.

Honestly, I haven't listened to either of those songs since sometime relatively close to their release date. I just assumed they were studio versions because they were on that compilation and Last Kiss got all that radio play.

Soldier of Love is from DC 1998-09-19 (i.e. Vault 4).

Last Kiss is thought to be from soundcheck that day, but it is mixed and mastered the same as a studio cut so it may as well be.

Same goes for Don't Believe In Christmas (soundcheck at the Showbox 2002-12-06).

You can also add Jingle Bells to the list (or not).

That's debatable, Chud.

The finished version of "Betterman" is a live recording with the audience mixed out. Is that a live track?

Are all of the albums that Led Zeppelin and Bob Dylan and the Stones and Neil Young recorded by pulling a mobile studio up to an empty theatre or rehearsal space really live albums?

You bring up a good point. Betterman at least has a large portion of the song that was recorded in a traditional studio.

But under my logic, I guess New Adventures in High Fi is a live album.

I suppose the way it was mixed/mastered might skew the final judgment towards studio.

The second half is taken from a live show IIRC. I don't think it was common knowledge until Brendan O Brien confirmed it when the Vs/Vitalogy remasters came out a few years ago.

I always have a hard time remembering what IIRC means.
