They don't do full tours, they do 'mini tours' and naturally pick the cities they know they can sell. Comprehensive American tours are for hungry bands with something to prove and your standard arena rock acts, at this point Pearl Jam are neither.

The days of Lubbock, Texas, Boise, Idaho....even Council Bluffs, IA. Long gone.

They can sell out 2 shows at arenas in Chicago, Boston, New York, and Philly, but can't sell out 1 night at a 7 - 10,000 seater at a lot of those places. Same reason I guarantee you will not see them in Salt Lake for a long time if ever again, those shows were way undersold.

Maybe if they showed up every once in awhile... nah nevermind.

I think that's a very very poor excuse. I can understand the family lives thing, but there's no excuse to divide bands into categories and put Pearl Jam somewhere in between in the category who play Argentina more than Phoenix.

Yeah, it sucks they don't play down there often. I guess 2008 was the last time. I wish they'd play Charlotte, NC. I have friends and family in that area, so that would give me an excuse to go see them, and see Pearl Jam. I have friends in Charleston, SC too, so I'd love to get back down there as well.

There's a lot of places they don't play anymore. They went from 2 shows in detroit in '03, and have played one show here in the 10 years since, and that was 7 years ago.

They think they are the Rolling Stones or U2.

Since 2003, they've only played their hometown of Seattle in 3 of those years. (2 of them were back to back nights, so technically 5 times total).

Europe and Boston/NYC seem to be their favorites these days.

Until 2003, same time they quit playing Alabama. Music Midtown last year was their first Atlanta show since then. I'm hoping the 50k who showed up can convince them that they can actually play shows in Atlanta. However, at this point, I feel like they'll only show up in the south for festivals.

At some point, they are just going to have a single permanent location where they only play, and people must travel to them.

Like a Vegas show.

They've played Grand Rapids more since 2004 (2) than Detroit (1).

They've played Grand Rapids more since 2004 (2) than Detroit (1).

I saw Pearl Jam in a hockey arena in Grand Rapids. What a neat little town.
