I think I preferred every episode Last Exit was up against except Homer vs. Apu. But it certainly took the hard road to the finals.

I think the only times I voted against Homer at the Bat was Homer the Vigilante and Cape Feare.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Both of these are worthy of winning it all. I'm voting for Last Exit to Springfield, at least for now. A few years ago it would have been Homer at the Bat no question. That episode hasn't fallen off for me, but Last Exit is just really, really, really fucking good.

I'm surprised how close this is; there seems to be much more love for Last Exit. My gut tells me Homer at the Bat, but I'm going to wait until I rewatch Last Exit, which never seems to be on TV.
