Introduce an artist

A couple of years ago I made Stip a few short mixes of artists that I thought he may be interested in hearing. I limited them to 30 mins so it was a rather brief glimpse into a catalogue. I remembered them when reading Trag's tourney suggestion. I'd always intended on creating a thread but was too lazy to do so.

These artists shouldn't need an introduction but some people may miss catching an artist. Nick Cave was the next one I was to do for Stip as I truly believe Stip would fall for his music. I also did a Jayhawks one but I can't find it.

Steve Earle is fantastic. I think we even have a thread for him. Galway Girl has been popping up on my playlist a lot lately.

I'll refer everyone to my William Onyeabor thread, which went over like a lead zeppelin.

Wow, I KNEW I recognized that band name from somewhere! I remember listening to them back around 2001 bc of Blake's influence on Binaural

That track with Steve's Last Ramble is a great 1-2. Transcendental Blues had some top stuff.

I haven't paid much attention since 2010 or so. I'll check that out.

I checked out those Latin Playboys videos you posted, Trag, since your description made it sound like it could be pretty interesting. I can't abide the singing, though. Musically speaking, it was pretty good, especially the first couple minutes of the second song where they had a bit of a Tortoise/math rock vibe going on.
