Anyone else go to any? I've managed to make it to Bonnaroo the past few years, but is there anything out there that's better?

No going but Coachella's lineup had some pretty exciting acts.

Sasquatch is hit and miss for me but this year sold out in minutes. And Bumbershoot I try to go to every year.

Sasquatch is something I would love to go to, but logistically it doesn't make much sense :( Can't imagine flying with all our camping gear

Seems there are new festivals popping up every year. Curious to see what every one else went to, if any.
Shaky Knees is one we're contemplating but it's the first year for 2013 so it could turn out to be a cluster. Lineup is right up my alley though - http://shakykneesfestival.com/lineup/

Have you ever gone? From what I've heard, and a few videos I've seen, seems like the cops are out of control. Not sure I could deal with that after being at Bonnaroo where pretty much "anything goes".

None are better than bonnaroo for me, but I've had fun at the various Austin fests. ACL is getting crowded though.

For some reason I know this is going to turn into a Roo thread

Roo lineup drops the 19th - until then, I'm undecided and really considering Shaky Knees instead.

Had a buddy go a couple years ago; he didn't mention anything about it. But only festival I've ever been to was Lollapalooza in 2007 when PJ headlined.

Only gone twice. Since I'm moving to the west coast I thought I'd give coachella a try maybe.

Only year I've been to Lolla as well :) Talk about miserably hot that year. Not sure how it always works out, but a lot of these festivals seem to fall on the hottest weekend of the year.

i really enjoyed de luna last year. yeah, having pj and the foos as headliners helped a lot, but you can't beat the setting of pensacola beach. as far as getting there goes, my friend and i just flew into mobile and rented a car. it's only an hour drive. i wish i could go every year regardless of musical acts.

I like festivals.

I'm going to Lollapalooza in Chile this year. It's gonna be sweet.

Do they have camping there? I'm really into the camping aspect of a festival for some reason. No cell phone, tv or connection to the real world for four days is just... perfect :)
Anyone been to Gathering of the Vibes?

Too old for that nonsense. I can't go days without showering. Crapping in a bucket is horrific. And being on mind bending drugs in the middle of a field in southern Tennessee no longer appeals to me. I did the first two and that was plenty.

But if you like it, and the lineup is interesting, go for it!

 jesus I can't type today....
The main reason I get enjoyment w/out luxuries for a week is because I'm sober the entire weekend. Those who indulge in anything, and everything, I don't know how they do it.

I've totally had it with festivals since a couple of years. Now, if I go, it's just one day for a few acts I want to see. I can't bring myself to spend an entire day, let alone multiple days on a festival ground.

Fair enough. But aren't you in Europe? Festivals there are a much larger draw - I couldn't imagine anything bigger than our first year at Roo - 80k. Isn't it closer to 200-250k in Europe?
