...that while Ed is so outspoken about his pro-choice beliefs, that he continues to cover RITFW which has an entire verse devoted to the sadness of a situation where a woman has an unwanted pregnancy, delivers the baby, tosses it in the garbage can, and now it's so sad that the child never gets a chance to go to school or be cool?

But if she aborts that baby a few months earlier, it's all good?

This post is not a political statement I'm just here a working late from home and a few glasses of wine ... and RITFW came on shuffle just now.

To me the verse is a comment on the woman's inability to make the choice in the first place, and the soul that was using that body as a vehicle was wasted when it could have been birthed in another world

I'm not seeing any conflict between Ed's pro-choice stance and the lines in that song. Being pro-choice doesn't mean you condone putting live children in garbage cans to go get high.

and the song is baout the circumstances that put a woman in that position to begin with.

i was in classes with a girl my freshman year of college who did this. had to get interviewed by the cops and everything. fun times!
