BBC: Planet Earth II

Not sure when this is getting to the States, but it began here tonight, and was a thing of beauty - what the BBC does best. There's a sequence involving iguanas that literally had my entire household on the edge of their seats.

I am excited for this too. Also excited because I thought D Attenborough had died. Must have confused him w someone else. So I am just totally playing with house money now

I just remember the original Planet Earth was one of the first "holy shit, HD is way better than SD" moments. I bet a 4K version would be a similar experience.

I saw the iguana footage on reddit this morning and it was fucking gripping.

Yeah, this would be gorgeous in 4K - and they filmed in HDR as well, so a nice shiny new TV/monitor would be a real experience.
