Just starting the first episode now. Anyone else watching or do you all hate this too?

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

It's the new top gear. It's technically on Amazon, is that still considered TV?

Quite looking forward to this. Hopefully it errs on the side of the Top Gear specials, with less of the dull car reviews.

The first episode was very car heavy, but from the sounds of it the second one will be a special.

I really enjoyed it. It felt a lot like Top Gear, but a little looser.

Pretty great first episode. Wish they would have showed more of the vehicles they rode in with. Evidently there was 150$Mil worth of car there.

Also, sad to see they won't have a celebrity is a reasonably-priced car.

Could have done lots more with the 3 Hyper cars. We have been waiting nearly 2 years. The stuff with fighting the audience could have been cut altogether.

Overall, it was like seeing old friends again.

GRAND TOUR SEASON 2: UPDATE AFTER HAMMOND'S CRASH
Image

by Jeremy Clarkson

Many of you have been asking if Hammond’s broken knee will affect the filming for season two of the Grand Tour.

And the short answer is: yes.

As I write, James May is sitting in the hell hole that is Gatwick Airport waiting for a budget airline to take him to a shoot that Hammond should have been doing.

REWRITES

Meanwhile, I’ve been up since dawn, rewriting all of the scripts and ideas we had to accommodate the fact that Hammond can’t drive for the next few months.

Meanwhile, he is lying in a bed in the Swiss Alps, while pretty nurses attend to give his every need, and give him drugs.

STANDING ON ONE LEG

Apparently, he will be back in the office next week which is a good thing because we are out of toner for the photocopier, the girl who makes coffee is on holiday and the store room needs re-organising. These, I feel, are jobs he can do on one leg.

YOUR IDEAS FOR WHAT HE SHOULD DO

If you have any suggestions for other ways he can make himself useful, do let me know in the comments below.

Good. He wasn't terrible but the joke kind of wore thin after the first couple of times. They've said that they had planned to do a fair bit of tweaking to the format after the first season which is great cause there was definitely some dead weight. i think i read that Celebrity Brain Crash is out as well.

It is. Same thing, wore thin real fast.
