Movie: Split (01-20-17)

They seem to be going all out on promo on this. Every commercial break.

McAvoy has chosen some really bizarre projects. He did some crazy cop movie a few years back that was borderline ridiculous.

For whatever reason - I'm keen to see this. Although I kind of know it'll end in disappointment, but I'm always excited by a new M Knight Shyamalan film.
I guess there may be some type of parallel between him and PJ - with regards to expectation and actual enjoyment

I love the premise of this thing. My wife thinks it looks like about the worst movie ever made. I'd still give it a chance though.

It's not a popular opinion but I loved the village. Alone out of all shamalamadingdongs films.

But I dunno. This just looks like an R rated xmen /comic movie or something. Not just cos the Mcevoy guy either.

I enjoyed The Village. Outside of a couple of really stupid moments, it's a really good movie.

I agree. I'd rank it above Signs, for sure, and maybe even 6th Sense. Maybe. I'd have to watch them both again.

I think this was pretty good, maybe even great. Without getting too in depth: I am fascinated by the science behind DID and I think Shyamalan did a very respectable job (to be brief), but James McAvoy was the big takeaway. Only one viewing, but I'm fairly confident his work here will hold up as one of my favorite performances ever.

Fwiw, that trailer makes this movie look so bad. That's a bad trailer.

I think the premise looks ridiculous. I think the trailer looks cheesy. But.. for some reason Im really curious about it. Maybe it's just that McAvoy is engaging.

This is an ingenious way to get an Unbreakable sequel made. Holy shit that took some balls.

I watched this. It was good but I couldn't really buy it. And the ending was disappointing for probably being too realistic and underwhelming.

Take it to the Force Awakens thread.
