And a small tour was announced. Looks like pre-sale starts tomorrow for some venues.

Isn't it great? The song titles suggest some of the proggier tendencies from "Helplessness Blues."
I love this band so much.

Oh yes it is. Seeing that my favorite song on Helplessness Blues is The Shrine / An Argument this makes me very happy.

And Wilco are great live! I saw FF at the Metro when they were supporting their first album -- an absolutely stunning concert, most impressive being how little trickery it proved was on their LP. They pulled off all the harmonies, all the precise little instrumental parts, with note-perfect clarity. Can't wait to have them back.

I can't find the set from the show I attended (10/12/08 at the Metro) but it was basically all of the first album and EP (and some weird banter with the crowd about the historical accuracy of Disney's "Pocahontas" and whether an ear of corn would make a better president than John McCain). I do remember they opened with "Sun It Rises" off the EP, and the blending of their voices being the first sound you heard from them was just a foundation-rattling sonic experience.

Can't wait to see these guys (along with Beach House) when they come to Phoenix in September. Should be a Hell if a 1-2 punch.
