These three can screw themselves. I abstain.

I like Got Some

Three crap songs. Supersonic at least has a cool bridge.

Supersonic is the other song I dislike, though I'm starting to warm slightly to it. it does have a good bridge.

Just breathe has some lovely playing by eddie, and a sweet sentiment that gets just a little too saccharine in the chorus. Strong verses though.

Got Some needs to sound more muscular than it does, and it's one of Eddie's worst lyrics (why he chose to sing in that squeaky voice for this one is beyond me), but the music is really good and it's a fun song. It would have been right at home on vs.

Got Some.

I loathe Got Some.

Got Some is great. Supersonic is dumb. Just Breathe is another of the latter day songs that can totally hang with the early stuff. And it gets my vote here, no question. As good as Got Some is, this isn't really difficult.

Just Breathe is so beautiful. I love the guitar work, the melody, the lyrics, even Ed's delivery is outstanding. Yeah, it's easily the best song on Backspacer.

Splitting this up by era is certainly revelatory in terms of the split from before and after Riot Act.

I'll go with Got Some, though I don't like the song nearly as much as I used to. I like Matt's work in it, though the chord progression is a little simplistic. And the lyrics are fairly terrible. But there's a momentum to the song, and it felt like a new sound when it came out. When the news came that Backspacer was going to be "PJ does pop/new wave," I was hoping for more things like this. Still, none of these songs really do it for me that much anymore.
