This is really close. Both amazing songs. I think I like Jeremy more from start to finish, though there's not much in the catalog that's more impactful than the release chorus (and the lyrics leading into it).

Although that extended woah that Eddie holds during the Jeremy outro comes close. Especially when you get it live and you're singing it with thousands of other people.

Jeremy is my gateway and it still can bring chills. Release is almost as good but man, when Stone chicken necks out and starts his run in Jeremy @ VMA 92....so so good.

"Release" resonates more on an emotional level, but I find "Jeremy" the stronger composition. I'm gonna go with "Jeremy" for this one, but it's close. And it's not even close

I'll defend Jeremy up and down, I think it's a great song that the band continues to perform very well. But Release still rules, and I think it might be because it still holds a special place in there repertoire as the slow-churning show-opener that they haven't been able to match even when they've tried. It's hard to put into words so I won't try, but it's a wonderful cathartic experience to hear this song at times that I don't feel very often with PJ songs.

Release is a really special song. It's probably one of the songs I've seen live the most, and it has never failed to deliver chills, and fill me with a great sense of anticipation and promise.

I wouldn't count Release among the likes of Off He Goes, All or None, etc.

i think Jeremy has just as power cathartic release. By the time the song hits the peak and ends with Aments bass line walking us home.....Im spent and feel like ive exercised whatever i needed to.

Also being a stronger composition and an incredible band performance.....Im going with jeremy.

Its not even close how much i wouldnt be mad if release won though.

Release is my second favorite song and Jeremy is top 10 PJ, maybe top 5. Brutal choice, but it's Release.

It was my favorite song of all time until Sleight of Hand finally passed it. Release is still my second favorite and it holds more sentimental value to me than any other song. I love it with all of my heart.
