Seems Winehouse might have been a closet PJ-admirer. 'Alive' features on the deceased songstresses' mix tape from when she was a kid:

super random for sure, but you can absolutely see the music she was influenced by and how she kind of developed herself. kinda cool

She talked about this briefly in a doc I saw:
"...at the time my brother was listening a lot like Sonic Youth and Pearl Jam and Therapy and like really...[inaudible] and I had very brief flirtation with that, but I must have been, literally, like I said 9."

What a talent she was. This is simply amazing and she's only 20 years old here:
