The band name leaves a bit to be desired, though.

It just doesn't seem like there was much effort put into the formation of the name, considering the obvious pop culture reference. Sure, there's a background story that undoubtably adds a level of charm to it, but I'll be shocked if it is enough to endear me to it completely.

You're going to regret making that post when Chicano Batman is a household name.

Of course you like them. The service you are using probably knows you better than your partner/parents do. Recommendation engines are also a perfect way to make your thought patterns work more and more like the algoritms they've designed, so your behavior (e.g. what kind of music you like) becomes even more predictable in the future.

I was never really into MIA until "Lovalot" was recommended to me.

Something similar happened to me with MIA. Except it was the song "Bad Girls".

My tastes are atrocious!
