Again Today vs Out Of Sand
Two new studio songs (one by Pearl Jam, one by Eddie Vedder) in a short space of time. Which one is better?
A poll would be nice.

Re: Again Today vs Out Of Sand
Thank you.
Out Of Sand reminds me of of the Into The Wild soundtrack. I wish Ed would release another album like that. Proper studio album, good production, effort into every song. The song fits his current voice perfectly.
Again Today is obviously more of a rock song. But Ed sounds out of place, straining his voice. The band meanwhile fades into the background, not being allowed to shine. It's modern Pearl Jam at its worst.
PS Not that it matters. But can you imagine something like Again Today on Vitalogy? No? Thought so.

Re: Again Today vs Out Of Sand
I think I like "Again Today" slightly better, but not crazy about either. Like Anders said above, Ed's voice is more suited for "Out Of Sand" but for me, I'm not that crazy about the Into The Wild stuff, so something that similar to it doesn't really interest me. The music to "Again Today" has potential but also like Anders said there are some elements of what I don't like about modern day PJ there.

I'm gonna go with Out of Sand. But I really dig both of them.

I like both, but voted for Out Of Sand. It's a pretty decent Ed song. Somber in tone and effective. There's also some pretty interesting chord changes.

"Out of Sand" is a terrible song. Vote for "Again Today" because I like the composition better, even if the arrangement isn't all that.

Re: Again Today vs Out Of Sand
I changed my vote to Again Today. Because today it's the better song.
But I really like both of these. As Stip said, they scratch different itches. I think which one I prefer will always depend on mood.

Don't be so lazy. Listen now. It's like 3 minutes long, though it feels like 10cutuphalfdead wrote:Haven't listened to Out of Sand. Not sure when I will.

Why would Pearl Jam cover an artist as mind numbingly boring as Brandi Carlisle?
